COTM – PANSY: MUTUAL AID BY AND FOR THE PANSIES IN ALL OF US

Mutual aid can take many forms, it’s just about people coming together to meet each other’s needs. To a large extent, just creating space for marginalized people to come skate together is a form of mutual aid, but PANSY also carries out this mission in the form of donation drives, skate lessons and forming safe discussion spaces.

I always encourage people to skate within their comfort zone but I try to find one thing within their skill level that they can learn during that meetup. Getting to see the stoke on someone’s face when they roll down a bank for the first time or get a nose stall on a curb is THE BEST!

COTM – THE SKATE NYMPHS WELCOME YOU TO MIAMI

Arays Domech had her crew name all picked out and knew there was a need for an organization in South Florida to give girls and LGBTQIA+ folks a safe place to skate.  Still, it wasn’t until a broken wrist kept her off her board that she had the free time to put the pieces together and Skate Nymphs was born.
