SKATEBOARDING FOR EVERYBODY
Switch & Signal Skatepark in Pittsburgh (home to Assistant Editor Maya Haptas) hosted a special Women & Trans session to celebrate the release of BIGFOOT’s first issue. Since we still wear masks indoors at the park we had some jalapeños for skaters to take home and keep it spicy.

From beginner to heavies, everyone rolled through to rip around and hang out. It was chill & fun. A mask-less breath of fresh air, and we needed it. Big thanks to everyone involved and HUGE thanks to Olga Aguilar for documenting the occasion!
The weather report was sketchy but in the end, the clouds parted making way for a super sweet skate clinic featuring legendary shredders, ambitious beginners and a whole lot of great people behind the scene working for the future of non-trad skateboarding. The cool people from Board of Missoula’s “Girls on Shred” organization are hosting a female/non-binary skate clinic at the super rad Coal Pad DIY in Glacier Washington on June 12th from 11am-4pm. Don’t miss this!!
It got wild, it got weird- it was fucking wonderful. This wasn’t just a contest, it was a renegade mission by local FDR women to take over the park for a day of music, art and skateboarding. The “Gnar Bar” was constructed on site, and the whole back flow bowl was painted with wild-ass ponies and flaming rainbows. Nine bands performed and there were over 30 artists and vendors. Women and queer/non-binary skaters from all over the country came out and shredded.
Wheels of Fortune is a fucking juggernaut. I started going to this event 10 years ago, when it was a small gathering. Just the homies basically; a great excuse to get together, shred, see old friends and test your fate in Seattle’s fucked up traffic.
