MC SKATE MASTER ASHLEY: PLAY ALL DAY!
“My deep love and affinity for skateboarding has shown me my own resilience and strength. It has also proved to be an incredible tool for my own therapy, self-expression, and pure joy!”
East Coast Mag Drop at Switch and Signal!
Switch & Signal Skatepark in Pittsburgh (home to Assistant Editor Maya Haptas) hosted a special Women & Trans session to celebrate the release of BIGFOOT’s first issue. Since we still wear masks indoors at the park we had some jalapeños for skaters to take home and keep it spicy.
PORTLAND MAG DROP POPPED!
With the help of Full City Coffee Rooster, a super duper sweet coffee shop in NE Portland and lots of other super fab friends, we threw a magazine drop party Sunday and it was fire!! An incredibly special opportunity to see so many familiar faces and officially introduce BIGFOOT to our hometown. CRESCENT SKATE KREWE CHALLENGING NORMS IN NOLA
“We skate every Sunday at Parisite DIY. Many of the Crescent Krewe are volunteering for communities outside of New Orleans that were hit very hard. We’ll all get back to meeting up at the skate park soon, but for now, our communities need help. Parisite DIY stepped up as a supply drop-off location.”

Our first print issue featuring everyone’s favorite frontside grind queen Shanae “SHEEZY” Collins, with photos from Wade Mclaughlin, a retrospective of Villa Villa Cola’s “Getting Nowhere Faster” video with words submitted by a lot of the project’s key players, Portland’s Feral Cat Cove DIY, “Old Fashioned Standards,” and much more!
OAKLAND’S CHUB ROLLZ CREW
I started getting back into skating after a 15-year break and was shocked to find that there weren’t more options out there for fat skaters. Mostly just “fail” videos and discouraging weight limits that I knew weren’t true for me when I was a fat skater in high school. Once I started skating again I knew I had to build a safe space for other fatties to learn too so we could grow the representation further and encourage others who thought they couldn’t skate based on their size.
The “Few and Far” Hit Medford!
“Few and Far is an assemblage of women who beautify the streets. In a shared commitment to creativity, education and social justice we draw, paint, skateboard and teach all over the globe.”
Vibing with Ronnie Toms
Ronnie’s cousin Gian got them into skateboarding when they were younger, but at the time they were way more into basketball. “I was a poser. I used to pretend that I skated in high school. People asked me about tricks and I would be like ‘oh, yeah, that one,’ so then I decided to pick it up for real.” Around 19 they really started getting into skating and that’s been a huge part of their life ever since.
